DENTISTS
Deborah Gerrish BDS ( Wales) with Commendation – GDC 79525
After graduating from Cardiff Dental School in 2001, I spent two years as senior house officer undertaking a number of roles at Cardiff Dental Hospital. I then continued to work at the hospital part time and part time in general practice. In doing so, I gained more experience in oral surgery restorative dentistry, particularly in catering for the dental needs of special care patients, which included the sedation of phobic patients. During my time in the hospital, I undertook further post graduate examinations to become a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and further clinical training in sedation and dental implants. With this experience, I feel confident in providing excellent general dentistry to the public. Here, at Newport Dental Care, we welcome anxious and phobic patients and enjoy providing appropriate quality care in a general practice setting.
Most of my spare time is spent taking my children between their various activities in the area, but when I get the chance I enjoy taking part in any sports I can and have enjoyed in training for both the New York and London Marathons.
Lois Kelso BDS (Belfast) GDC registration 271366
I qualified from Queen’s University Belfast in 2017 and after successfully completing a year of Dental Foundation Training in Cardiff I joined Newport Dental Care in 2018.
Anyone who has met me will know from my accent that I’m not a local! I am from Northern Ireland. I enjoy sport in my spare time, especially if it involves a hockey stick.
I enjoy the opportunity General Practice gives to build and develop relationships with patients of all ages. I seek to put my patients at ease and provide high quality dental treatment within and outside the NHS. I have completed Part 1 of the MJDF qualification and am currently working towards Part 2 of the qualification.
